Program Content Overview

he Returning Warriors™ Retreat is intended as a transitional journey that takes participants through a series of passages on the long pathway to recollection of Self before trauma.

The activities are contemporary applications of healing techniques used for thousands of years to address – among other things – the transition from Warrior to peaceful and productive member of the tribe.

We provide a natural, transitional context within which Returning Warriors can recognize and engage their internal wisdom and resources for intervention and change. In this supportive setting, participants learn about the Warrior's place in the personality, and effective coping mechanisms to assist in adjusting to change.

Participants also learn healing practices and ceremonies they can use on their own. They will begin an ongoing healing process for the Warrior and his external support system of family, friends, loved ones, and community.

Program Structure
Everyone is expected to fully engage in experiential activities that will generate and enhance self-awareness and guide internal wisdom and understanding to emerge.

Mornings will be devoted generally to discussion and dialog, providing information and processing the previous day’s events. Afternoons include exercises and creative work, plus time for individual and/or group discussions with facilitators.

Evenings are devoted to ritual and ceremonial activities that teach participants through experiential encounters and set up the following day’s proceedings and events. Ample time will be provided for self-reflection, enjoyment of the surroundings and rest.

Going Forward
Returning Warriors™ retreats are best presented in your home community for follow-up or ongoing support. Special programs are also scheduled by Ravens Grove for both veterans and trainers.

If you are interested in coordinating a retreat in your area, please contact us for more information about the program and scheduling.

Those interested in participating in the program as a facilitator, please see the Facilitators page.
